Shaurya Bhattacharya Leads Kolar Open 2026 After Third Round

Shaurya Bhattacharya stayed ahead in the Kolar Open 2026 after three rounds, leading by two shots. The 23-year-old golfer from Delhi scored a one-under-par 71 in the third round, bringing his total to 10-under-par 206. He started the day with a three-shot lead and managed to keep control despite other players closing the gap.

Chandigarh’s Angad Cheema and Hyderabad’s Mohd Azhar are tied for second place at eight-under-par 208. Cheema made significant progress with a five-under-par 67, while Azhar scored a two-under-par 70 to stay in contention.

Stepan Danek from the Czech Republic had an impressive round, scoring nine birdies and a bogey-free nine-under-par 63. This moved him up to fourth place at seven-under-par 209. Badal Hossain from Bangladesh is fifth at six-under-par 210, followed by Gurugram’s Veer Ahlawat in sixth at five-under-par 211.

Bhattacharya faced tough conditions during his round, with rain and strong winds making the back nine challenging. He hit the ball well but missed two short putts near the end. Despite this, he finished strong with a birdie on the final hole to maintain his lead.

“I kept finding fairways and hitting greens, which worked well for me,” Bhattacharya said. “I’ll stick to this approach in the final round.”

Saptak Talwar, leading the DP World PGTI Rankings, improved to seventh place at three-under-par 213. Defending champion Kshitij Naveed Kaul from Delhi made a big move with a six-under-par 66, jumping to eighth place at two-under-par 214. He was joined by Shubham Jaglan and Prakhar Asawa.

Jaglan recently won his first professional title at the Coal India Open in Kolkata before competing in the Kolar Open.
