One person was killed and at least 16 others were hurt after a speeding luxury car hit roadside food stalls in a busy area of Jaipur, police said on Saturday.
The accident took place late on Friday night near Kharbas Circle in the Patrakar Colony police station area. The spot was crowded, with many people standing near the food stalls and having snacks.
Police said the car was going very fast when the driver lost control. The vehicle crashed into several stalls and struck people nearby. The sudden crash created panic, and people ran to safety.
Local residents helped the injured before ambulances arrived. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, and some are in serious condition.
Police have registered a case and begun an investigation. They are looking into whether the accident was caused by overspeeding, drunk driving, or careless driving.
