A Sri Lankan woman with suspected links to the LTTE was found to have an active
Indian voter ID, raising concerns about misuse of identity documents.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has informed the Election Commission about the
issue.

The woman, Letchumanan Mary Franciska, was arrested by state police during a
bank fraud investigation while she was trying to travel to Bengaluru. She has
been in Indian custody since 2022.

During the search, officers found that she had an active Indian voter ID, a PAN
card, an Aadhaar card, and an Indian passport.
