Stalin Accuses BJP of Blocking Tamil Research

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin criticised the BJP during the inauguration
of the Porunai Museum in Tirunelveli. He accused the Union government of blocking
archaeological research related to Tamil civilisation.

Referring to findings from Keezhadi and other excavation sites, Stalin said Tamil
Nadu has scientific evidence to prove its ancient history. However, he claimed the
BJP does not want such discoveries to come out. He said literature alone is not
enough to prove history and that archaeological research is needed for scientific proof.

Stalin alleged that the Union government was creating obstacles to studies that
could show how old Tamil civilisation is. He said even when studies are done, their
findings are not allowed to be published.

He also said his government is strongly opposing those who act against Tamil language
and Tamil people. Stalin criticised those who, according to him, focus on searching
for the Saraswati river civilisation while ignoring the evidence presented by Tamil
archaeological research.

Calling it a long struggle, Stalin said the fight to establish Tamil history has been
going on for over 2,000 years and will continue. He said museums are being used to
present research findings directly to the public.

The Porunai Museum, built on 13 acres with a built-up area of 54,296 square feet,
was inaugurated on the occasion. Stalin said he felt proud not only as the Chief
Minister or DMK leader, but also as a Tamilian.
