Chief Minister M. K. Stalin on Monday inaugurated several new development projects in the city.
He opened newly constructed buildings at Arulmigu Kapaleeswarar Arts and Science College in Kolathur. The buildings were constructed at a cost of ₹31.45 crore and are expected to improve infrastructure and provide better facilities for students.
During the event, the Chief Minister also inaugurated an air-conditioned bus stop to make waiting more comfortable for the public. In addition, he opened a new roadside park on Sembium Red Hills Road to provide a green space for residents.
A new fair price shop was also inaugurated to help ensure the supply of essential commodities to the public at subsidised rates. Further, an integrated child development centre building was opened to support welfare programmes for children and mothers in the area.
As part of the welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister distributed free house site pattas to 2,007 beneficiaries. These pattas will help families secure legal ownership of land for building their homes.
Officials said these projects aim to improve infrastructure, provide better public services, and support the welfare of residents in Kolathur and nearby areas.
