Stalin Seeks Relief for Pre-2010 Teachers

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to
step in and change the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, and the National
Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Act, 1993. He wants these laws changed
so that teachers who were appointed before August 23, 2010, do not have to
pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Stalin said this issue has created a serious
and urgent problem for lakhs of teachers across India, including many in Tamil
Nadu.
