Chennai: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Friday said that the DMK’s political opponents are repeating old accusations because they cannot accept Tamil Nadu’s development or defeat the ruling party in elections.
Speaking at an event organised by a media house in Chennai, Stalin said his rivals continue to make the same claims without offering any new ideas or policies. He said these attacks are aimed at distracting people from the progress made by the state under the DMK government.
He pointed out that Tamil Nadu has seen growth in several sectors, including welfare schemes, infrastructure, education, and healthcare. According to him, instead of recognising these achievements, opposition parties are trying to spread negative stories about the government.
Stalin said that one of the common accusations against the DMK is that the party follows family-based or dynastic politics. Responding to this, he said such charges are politically motivated and have been repeated for many years. He added that the party’s success comes from the support of the people and the hard work of its cadre, not from family connections.
The Chief Minister said the DMK will continue to focus on governance and public welfare rather than reacting to criticism. He expressed confidence that the people of Tamil Nadu will continue to support the party based on its performance.
