Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam, the literary wing of Shriram group, one of India’s leading non-banking financial companies, is organizing Thirukkural Elocution, Drawing & Essay Contests 2026, the annual state-level competition from 18th July to 30th Aug. 2026, for School and College students across 12 centres covering Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
The Chennai zone competitions will be held at CSI Jessie Moses Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Anna Nagar on 29th August 2026 and at Vels Vidyashram, Pallavaram on 30th August 2026. The contest at other cities will be held as follows: Salem on 18th July 2026, Vellore on 19th July 2026, Thiruvarur on 25th July. 2026, Puducherry on 26th July. 2026, Erode on 1st Aug. 2026, Coimbatore on 2nd Aug. 2026, Tanjore on 8th Aug. 2026, Trichy on 9th Aug 2026, Madurai on 22nd Aug. 2026, Nellai on 23rd Aug. 2026.
The contestants will be divided into 3 groups – Juniors (Classes: 6-8), Seniors (Classes: 9-12) and College (UG, PG, Engineering, Medical and Polytechnic students).

It is worth mentioning that Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam has been conducting this competition every year since 1988 with the view of enhancing awareness on the teachings of Thirukkural among the student community in the State.
