Summons Issued to 17 BJP Workers in Karnataka Over 2017 Bike Rally Case

The JMFC court in Mandya, Karnataka, issued summons to 17 BJP workers in connection with a 2017 case involving a bike rally held in violation of prohibitory orders. The BJP had organized the rally against the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) in Mangaluru. The workers, heading to the venue from Mandya, were stopped by the police in Pandavapura town.

The summons were issued as the BJP workers had remained absent during court proceedings. The BJP raised objections, questioning why the summons were issued after years of inactivity in the case. The party accused the Congress government of pursuing a politics of hatred and targeting Hindu activists. The police clarified that the court issued the summons independently.
