Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections: TVK Vijay Appeals for Support

TVK Vijay, president of a political party, began his election campaign in Perambur on Monday. He emotionally appealed to voters to support him in the upcoming elections. After filing his nomination papers, he declared assets worth around Rs 624 crore. His wife, Sangeetha, owns movable assets worth Rs 15 crore and immovable assets valued at Rs 25 lakh.

Vijay urged voters to give him “one chance” to serve them, calling himself a brother and son to the people. He emphasized that the election was an opportunity to uplift an entire generation. He shared that he had given up his personal comforts to repay the trust of the people.

While addressing the crowd from his campaign vehicle, Vijay criticized Chief Minister M K Stalin. He accused the government of failing to ensure public safety, especially for women and children, despite Stalin’s five-year control over the police department. Vijay also alleged that under DMK’s leadership, looting for personal benefits was prioritized, citing issues like Tasmac irregularities and the cash-for-job scam linked to the municipal administration.

Later, Vijay campaigned in Kolathur but had to cancel his plan to visit Villivakkam due to inadequate police security arrangements.

In his poll affidavit, Vijay declared Rs 404 crore in movable assets, including cash, investments, and gold. He owns several luxury cars, along with a TVS XL Super moped. His immovable assets, worth Rs 220 crore, include properties in Chennai and Kodaikanal, as per the affidavit summary.
