About half of the restoration work on the temple tank at Thiruneermalai has been completed, temple authorities said.
The restoration is taking place at the Manikarnika Theertham, the sacred tank of the Sri Ranganathaperumal Temple, which is centuries old. The work started on January 7, 2026, and is part of efforts to preserve the historic structure and maintain the temple’s spiritual and cultural importance.
Officials said the restoration includes cleaning the tank, repairing the steps, and strengthening the boundaries to prevent further damage. Once completed, the tank will not only look beautiful but also be safer and more accessible for devotees who visit the temple for rituals and holy dips.
The authorities also mentioned that the remaining work is expected to be finished in the coming months, ensuring that the historic tank is fully restored while preserving its original charm.
This restoration is part of ongoing efforts to protect and maintain the heritage of Thiruneermalai, which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
