Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said that the unity and religious harmony in Tamil Nadu irritates the BJP, which tries to divide people using communal politics. “No matter what methods they use or how many people they employ, they cannot create religious hatred in Tamil Nadu,” he said at a government welfare event in Kallakurichi.
Stalin added, “As long as I am in power, and the Dravidian model government continues, there will be no space for communal hatred in Tamil Nadu.”
He highlighted examples of communal harmony in the state: Murugan devotees worship the flag at Thiruparankundram Dargah, Muslims offer rose milk to Hindu devotees during the Madurai Chithirai festival, Pongal is offered in churches on the first day of Thai, and during Christmas or Ramzan, Hindus exchange cake and biryani with Christian and Muslim friends.
“This spirit of brotherhood irritates the BJP,” he said, adding that people will vote them out in 2026.
Stalin accused the BJP-led Union government of creating an atmosphere where even children and differently-abled people face violence and hate, even on Christmas. He claimed BJP wants to bring the same situation to Tamil Nadu.
Listing the achievements of the DMK government, Stalin said that the previous ten-year AIADMK rule contributed less than 5% of what DMK has done. “I challenge anyone to show 5% of what we have achieved,” he said.
On elections, Stalin urged people to check and ensure their names are on the voters’ list. He assured that the DMK and the Dravidian government will support citizens in this effort.
