Trident Ltd Announces Rs 2,000 Crore Expansion Plan

Shares of Trident Ltd remained almost unchanged on Friday, even as the
Ludhiana-based company announced a Rs 2,000 crore expansion plan in Punjab.
Trident shares fell slightly by 0.49% to Rs 28.44 from the previous close of
Rs 28.58. The company’s market value is Rs 14,492 crore.

As part of the expansion, Trident will invest Rs 1,500 crore in Barnala to
increase Terry Towel production and upgrade its paper manufacturing units.

Another Rs 500 crore will be spent in Mohali to build a modern corporate
office and a training center.

The company said this plan will strengthen its business in multiple sectors
and create around 2,000 jobs, focusing on employing semi-skilled rural women
and promoting women’s empowerment.

Trident Limited, the main company of Trident Group, is a major Indian business
with a global presence. Headquartered in Ludhiana, Punjab, Trident produces
textiles (yarn, bath, and bed linen) and paper (made from wheat straw).
The company has three main business areas: Textiles, Paper, and Chemicals,
with factories in Punjab and Madhya Pradesh.
