Donald Trump has said that the United States is offering what he called a “fair deal” to Iran. He also warned that if talks fail, the US could carry out military strikes.
Trump announced that American officials are traveling to Islamabad in Pakistan for discussions related to Iran. He claimed that Iran had broken a ceasefire near the Strait of Hormuz by firing shots in the area.
He also said that some of these attacks targeted a French ship and a British cargo vessel. Trump described these actions as unacceptable and said they increase tensions in the region.
In a social media post, Trump repeated that the US is willing to reach an agreement and hopes Iran will accept the offer. However, he warned that if negotiations do not succeed, the US could target important infrastructure in Iran, such as power plants and bridges.
Earlier, Trump had mentioned that talks with Iran were ongoing but said he was unhappy with the lack of progress. At the same time, Hakan Fidan from Turkey said that both sides appear willing to continue discussions, even though there are still disagreements.
Overall, the situation remains tense, but efforts for dialogue are still continuing.
