TTD Trust Board Approves House Sites and Salary Hikes for Employees

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board has given its approval for the distribution of house sites to 5,018 employees in two phases, scheduled for December and January. The TTD will acquire an additional 350 acres in Tirupati district for this purpose. The Trust Board also announced salary hikes for ‘Potu’ workers (temple kitchen staff) and Vahana bearers, with a ₹10,000 increase for each.

Barbers working at the Tirumala Kalyanakatta (tonsuring centers) will now receive a mandatory minimum wage of ₹20,000. The board further decided to organize a ‘Dharmika Sadas’ in February 2024, inviting pontiffs and monks from various mutts and religious organizations across India.

Additionally, the TTD will build two new rest houses, ‘Achyutam’ and ‘Sripatham,’ at Tirumala, and allocate funds for the construction of a Lord Venkateswara temple in Jharkhand as part of the ‘Dharma Prachara’ initiative.
