Vote counting for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections is currently in progress, and the early results show a major political surprise. Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has gained a strong lead in the state.
According to the first two rounds of counting held on Monday, TVK is leading in around 100 constituencies out of the total 234 seats. This impressive early performance has placed the party in a very strong position in its first-ever Assembly election.
TVK president Vijay is also leading in both Perambur and Trichy East constituencies, showing strong voter support for his leadership. Meanwhile, Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin are trailing in the initial rounds of vote counting.
In addition, more than 20 ministers from the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government, including HR and CE Minister P. K. Sekarbabu, are also behind in the early trends.
These early developments point to a possible major change in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. TVK’s strong performance suggests that the party is emerging as a serious force against long-established political parties in the state.
However, these are only early trends, and the final election outcome will be confirmed after the complete counting of votes across all constituencies. Political leaders, party workers, and the public are closely watching as Tamil Nadu moves toward an important electoral decision.
