TVK Nears Majority in Tamil Nadu Assembly Race

Vote counting is continuing across Tamil Nadu’s 234 Assembly constituencies, and the latest trends show Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as the leading party in the state.
TVK is currently ahead in 115 constituencies, making it the single largest party at this stage of counting. The party is now just three seats away from the majority mark of 118 seats, which is required to form the government in Tamil Nadu.
The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is currently leading in 54 seats, placing it in second position.
Meanwhile, the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is ahead in 43 constituencies.
Although TVK has not yet crossed the majority mark, its strong performance in its debut election has made it a major political force in Tamil Nadu. The party’s rapid rise has drawn significant attention, as it challenges long-established political rivals.
Counting is still underway, and final results will only be confirmed after all votes are counted. Tamil Nadu remains focused on the election outcome, as the state could be heading toward a historic political shift.
