TVK’s R Sabarinathan Wins Virugambakkam Seat

R Sabarinathan, a 30-year-old candidate from Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has become one of the most discussed winners in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections after a strong victory in the Virugambakkam constituency.
Sabarinathan won the seat by securing 76,092 votes, defeating his nearest rival from the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) with a clear margin.
His win is being seen as a significant result for TVK, which made a strong debut in Tamil Nadu politics under the leadership of C. Joseph Vijay.
The victory in Virugambakkam is especially notable because the constituency is considered an important urban seat in Chennai, where voter competition is usually strong.
Sabarinathan’s success reflects the growing support for TVK among younger voters and urban residents. His campaign focused on local issues, development, and change, which appears to have connected well with the electorate.
Political observers say his win adds to TVK’s rising influence in the state, as the party continues to perform strongly in several constituencies across Tamil Nadu.
With this victory, R Sabarinathan has emerged as one of the young faces of TVK and a key new political figure to watch in Tamil Nadu politics.
