In a concerning incident near Salavakkam, two students attending a government school became victims of assault by three individuals, one of whom was a 16-year-old, on Wednesday. According to a senior police official, the two victims, who were in Class XII at the Orakattupettai Government School, had engaged in a physical altercation with a Class X student earlier in the day.
The situation escalated when the Class X student returned to the scene with his elder brother, identified as Srisakthi, and a friend named Jeevan. They subsequently assaulted the two Class XII students, wielding a knife in the process. Both victims have been hospitalized at the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for necessary medical treatment.
