The US Embassy in India has warned people about fake messages and agents
who claim they can guarantee visas or provide faster approvals. As visa
processing is currently taking longer, many applicants are being targeted by
scammers who ask for money in return for quick services.
In a post on X, the embassy said that visa scams are more common than people
realise and can lead to loss of money, time, and travel plans. It warned applicants
not to trust messages or agents who promise guaranteed visas.
The embassy advised people to be careful, follow only official visa procedures,
and depend on trusted and official sources to avoid being cheated.
