US-Iran Tensions Escalate Again

Tensions between the United States and Iran have increased again after President Donald Trump issued a new warning to Tehran. Negotiations over nuclear issues, sanctions, and compensation remain stuck. Months of unrest in West Asia have added to the tensions.

Trump urged Iran to act quickly on an agreement in a social media post, saying time is running out. This came shortly after Iranian media shared details of the US’s main demands for restarting talks. The US reportedly wants Iran to give up 400 kilograms of enriched uranium and keep only one nuclear site active. It also wants Iran to drop demands for war compensation and accept that most frozen assets will stay blocked.

The US also wants regional conflicts to end after negotiations are completed, according to reports. However, Iran rejected these terms and set its own conditions. Tehran demanded an end to military operations in the region, especially in Lebanon, the lifting of sanctions, and the release of frozen Iranian assets. It also sought compensation for war damages and recognition of its control over the Strait of Hormuz.

The Strait remains a major point of tension, with Iran restricting shipping while the US increases naval actions and sanctions. Earlier this year, a ceasefire was reached, but no long-term agreement has been signed. Diplomatic efforts are now on hold after both sides rejected each other’s latest proposals last week.
