Kochi: Kaloor Stadium in Kochi was filled with thousands of people on Sunday night as men dressed in traditional white shirts and mundus gathered for the 21st Hubbu Rasool Conference.
People travelled from different parts of Central Kerala to attend the annual religious event. This year’s conference was held under the theme “Khalbilundu Ente Nabi,” which means “My Prophet is in My Heart.”
The gathering was marked by religious speeches, prayers and devotional programmes focused on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.
A Major Annual Religious Gathering
The Hubbu Rasool Conference has been held for nearly two decades and has become an important annual event for many followers.
The conference provides an opportunity for people to come together, listen to religious scholars and reflect on their faith and spiritual values.
Thousands of participants attended the programme, creating a large gathering at Kaloor Stadium. Many of those present wore traditional white clothing, giving the event a distinctive appearance.
Religious Speeches and Devotional Programmes
The programme included speeches and devotional sessions praising the Prophet and discussing his teachings.
Religious leaders spoke about values such as peace, compassion, unity and moral responsibility. The event also gave followers an opportunity to strengthen their connection with their religious traditions.
Indian Grand Mufti Kanthapuram A.P. Aboobacker Musliyar delivered the final address at the conference.
His speech brought the main programme to a close, with participants listening to his message on faith, religious values and community unity.
Wider Cultural and Religious Debate
The large gathering also comes at a time when questions about religion, culture and identity are receiving considerable attention in India.
Debates involving religious traditions, cultural practices and issues such as the hijab have created strong discussions in public and political life.
Different groups often have different views on how religious and cultural identities should be represented in modern India. These debates can sometimes become politically sensitive, particularly when questions of tradition and identity are connected with wider social issues.
A Gathering Focused on Faith
Despite the wider debates surrounding religion and culture, the main purpose of the Hubbu Rasool Conference remains spiritual.
For those attending, the event is an opportunity to listen to religious teachings, participate in devotional activities and meet others who share their faith.
The conference has continued to attract large crowds over the years, showing the importance of religious gatherings in Kerala’s social and cultural life.
Continuing Tradition
The 21st edition of the Hubbu Rasool Conference once again brought together thousands of people in Kochi.
With its focus on devotion, religious learning and unity, the event remains an important annual occasion for its followers. The large turnout also reflects the continuing role of religious and cultural traditions in the lives of communities across Kerala.
