VCK Seeks Thirumavalavan as Consensus Chief Minister

Amid the uncertain political situation in Tamil Nadu, VCK general secretary Sinthanai Selvan has appealed to the state’s two major Dravidian parties, the DMK and AIADMK, to support Thol Thirumavalavan as the next Chief Minister.

The appeal comes at a time when TVK chief Vijay is struggling to gather enough support to form the government after securing 108 MLAs, which is short of the majority needed in the Assembly.

With no party having a clear majority, political uncertainty continues to grow in the state, leading to intense alliance discussions and negotiations.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Sinthanai Selvan said that proposing Thol Thirumavalavan as Chief Minister would help bring political stability to Tamil Nadu during this difficult situation.

He described the idea as “the need of the hour” and clarified that the suggestion was not merely his personal opinion but reflected a broader political concern about ensuring stable governance in the state.

Selvan argued that both the DMK and AIADMK should consider setting aside political rivalry and support a consensus leader in the interest of Tamil Nadu.

The statement has added a new dimension to the ongoing political discussions surrounding government formation.

Thol Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), is known for his strong stance on social justice and Dalit rights and has been an influential figure in Tamil Nadu politics for many years.

Political observers say the proposal reflects growing concern among smaller parties about prolonged instability if no major alliance succeeds in forming a stable government soon.

As negotiations continue between various parties, Tamil Nadu’s political future remains uncertain, with several possible alliance combinations still being discussed.
