Vijay Seeks Approval for Hosur-Bommasandra Metro Link

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Monday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to approve the proposed Metro Rail link between Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Bommasandra in Karnataka. He said the project would benefit people in both States by improving transport connectivity and making travel between the two regions easier.

Mr. Vijay made the request during an event held at Kendriya Vidyalaya on the IIT-Madras campus in Chennai. The event marked the inauguration of passenger services on the new Chennai Metro Rail stretch between Poonamallee Bypass and Vadapalani. The stretch includes 11 elevated stations. The event also included the foundation-laying ceremony for new development projects.

During his address, the Chief Minister also asked the Prime Minister to reconsider the proposed Metro Rail projects for Coimbatore and Madurai. He highlighted the importance of these projects for the future development of western and southern Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Vijay said better Metro connectivity would support economic growth and improve public transport facilities in these regions. He stressed that expanding Metro Rail services beyond Chennai would help meet future travel needs and support the development of important cities across Tamil Nadu.

The proposed Hosur-Bommasandra Metro link is expected to improve connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. If approved, it could make daily travel easier for commuters travelling between Hosur and areas near Bengaluru. The Chief Minister’s requests highlighted the need for further investment in public transport infrastructure to support regional development and economic growth.
