Washington Sundar Out of India vs New Zealand Series

Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar will miss the ongoing India vs New Zealand ODI series after injuring his ribs in the first ODI in Vadodara, according to a PTI report.

A BCCI official said Sundar had pain in his left lower rib area, which forced the team to take him out of the game.

After the match, captain Shubman Gill talked about Sundar’s injury. He said, “Washington Sundar has a side strain and will go for a scan after the match,” showing that the injury needs further checking.

Right now, the BCCI has not officially said if Sundar will miss the rest of the series. Because of this, no replacement has been named yet. The team will decide after seeing the scan results and knowing how serious the injury is.

This is a setback for India, as Sundar is an important spin-bowling all-rounder. His absence may affect both the team’s batting lineup and spin options in the coming matches.
