White House Defends Trump’s H-1B Visa Stance

The White House has defended US President Donald Trump’s views on H-1B visas,
saying he has a clear and practical opinion on the issue. Press Secretary
Karoline Leavitt said that President Trump would allow foreign workers to come
to the US at first, but they would eventually be replaced by American workers.

She said Trump supports limited, short-term use of skilled foreign workers when
companies are making big investments in US manufacturing. She also said the main
goal is always to give those jobs to Americans.

Leavitt added that many people have misunderstood the President’s position.
She said Trump has told foreign companies that if they invest in the US, they
must hire American workers.
