“Women’s Premier League Auction Draws 277 Players”

A total of 277 players from around the world, including India’s World Cup star
Deepti Sharma, will compete for 73 spots in the upcoming Women’s Premier League
(WPL) auction to be held on November 27.

According to a WPL media release, 19 players have entered the auction with the
highest base price of ₹50 lakh, 11 players in the ₹40 lakh bracket, and 88 players
in the ₹30 lakh bracket.

The auction list includes 194 Indian players — 52 capped (who have played for
India) and 142 uncapped — who will compete for 50 available slots. It also
features 66 overseas capped players and 17 uncapped overseas players, who
will try to fill the remaining 23 spots.

Top Indian players like Deepti Sharma, Harleen Deol, Pratika Rawal, Pooja
Vastrakar, Uma Chetry, and Kranti Goud are in the ₹50 lakh base-price category.

International stars such as Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr from New Zealand,
Sophie Ecclestone from England, and Alyssa Healy and Meg Lanning from Australia
are also listed in the ₹50 lakh bracket.

Each WPL team can have up to 18 players in their squad.
