Delhi Capitals won the toss and chose to bat first. Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul started strong, but Akeal Hosein quickly gained control. Mukesh Choudhary dismissed Nissanka, and Hosein removed Rahul as DC struggled to 37 runs in the powerplay with two wickets lost.
