Yuvraj Singh Defends Stuart Broad After Discarding Signed Jersey

It has been 20 years since Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in the first T20 World Cup, making him a legend alongside cricketing greats like Sir Garfield Sobers. Recently, he shared an interesting story about Stuart Broad. During a conversation with former England captain Michael Vaughan on The Overlap Cricket podcast, Yuvraj revealed that after the match, he signed an Indian jersey for Broad. However, Broad reportedly threw it in the dustbin out of anger.

Yuvraj explained that after being hit by five sixes himself, he wrote a message on the jersey: “You know, I’ve been hit for five sixes. I know how it feels. I hope you go on to become the best.” He admitted that he later heard about Broad’s reaction but didn’t speak to him afterward.

Yuvraj also praised Broad, calling him a “legendary fast bowler” with over 630 Test wickets. He noted that Broad turned a difficult moment into success, becoming one of the best bowlers in the game.

When asked why he targeted Broad during their match against England, Yuvraj explained that while people often link his sixes to an argument with Freddie Flintoff, there was more to it. He added that regardless of who he faced, he had to deliver in crucial moments during the last overs of the innings.

Yuvraj’s story shows his sportsmanship and understanding of how even legendary players face challenges, but ultimately rise above them.
