Zelenskyy Says Geneva Talks Insufficient

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the recent trilateral talks between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia in Geneva did not produce enough progress.

In a post on social media, Zelenskyy said that important political issues were not fully discussed. These included sensitive topics such as possible compromises that could help end the ongoing war. He said that while talks are continuing, more serious work is needed to move closer to peace.

The Geneva meeting is part of ongoing international efforts, led by the United States, to help Ukraine and Russia reach a negotiated settlement. The war between Ukraine and Russia began in February 2022 and has continued for more than four years, causing heavy losses and damage.

The Geneva talks followed two earlier rounds of negotiations that were brokered by the United States. Those meetings were held in the United Arab Emirates in January and early February this year.

President Zelenskyy announced that the next round of talks will take place later this month. He said Ukraine remains committed to finding a peaceful solution but stressed that any agreement must protect the country’s sovereignty and security.

The international community continues to closely watch these discussions, hoping they will lead to meaningful progress toward ending the conflict.
