The event, to be hosted at the Steve Jobs theatre on campus, will herald a new era for the iPhone maker as it enters the fast-growing global content streaming market.

“Apple has been looping a video from the theatre, teasing its focus on television,” reports The Verge.

The development came into notice when the iPhone-maker published an update titled, “Systems, methods and graphical user interfaces for interacting with Augmented and Virtual Reality environments”, as part of an existing patent filed in August 2018, CNET reported on Thursday.

“The iPhone-maker is exploring building an AR headset, something that sources told CNET the company is hoping to release in roughly the next year,” the report said.

In some cases the target iPhone would send video, probably without the receiver’s knowledge, the BBC reported.

The flaw, first revealed by the 9to5Mac blog, appears to occur when both users are running version 12.1 of Apple’s mobile operating system, or newer.

Apple said it has developed a fix and the update would be rolled out this week.

The technique involves using the software’s group chat function, apparently confusing the software into activating the target’s microphone, even if the call had not been accepted.

The eavesdropping ends when the call is cut after too many rings.

The debut of the Microsoft Office in Apple Store came a little bit later than what Apple first announced at its Worldwide Developers Conference last year, when the Cupertino, California-based tech firm promised the Microsoft Office package would be available by the end of 2018.

Apple said users can purchase a subscription for Office 365 from within the apps, which was designed specifically to support features that are unique to the Mac experience, reports Xinhua news agency.

“Apple and Microsoft have worked together to bring great Office productivity to Mac users from the very beginning. Now, with Office 365 on the Mac App Store, it’s easier than ever to get the latest and best version of Office 365 for Mac, iPad and iPhone,” said Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

Jared Spataro, corporate vice president at Microsoft, said his company has been working closely with Apple to provide Mac users with the very best productivity experience uniquely designed for the Mac system.

As part of the sale, the company is offering the 32GB and 128GB storage variants of iPhone SE for $249 and $299, respectively. Prior to being pulled off, it was available with for $349 and $449, respectively.

“These are brand new, unopened, and unlocked models with unchanged tech specs, including a 4-inch retina display, A9 chip, Touch ID, and 12-MP rear camera,” MacRumors reported on Sunday.

The device has been popular among users of smaller smartphones and those who preferred the iPhone 5-like design.

However, famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo raised doubts on the possibility of a new iPhone SE but in July 2018 a research firm claimed that the company has abandoned its plans for a new iPhone SE, the report said.

Apple had also lowered its revenue guidance with the previous quarter ending with fewer upgrades than anticipated giving rise to speculations hinting that the company is doing everything it can to boost iPhone sales.

“It’s unclear why Apple is selling the iPhone SE again, but it would appear to be clearing out stock,” the report added.

There has been no word from the iPhone-maker as of now about whether or not iPhone SE would be made available for resale in other countries.

The device was originally released in March 2016.

“Adding regional turn-by-directions makes owning Apple devices that much more appealing for domestic customers, as Apple Maps integrates so well with the system platforms.

“You could always download a third-party maps app on the App Store, but features like proactive alerts, or Apple Watch navigation are best offered by Apple Maps,” 9to5Mac reported.

Apple Maps’ rival Google Maps has been the de facto navigation application in India for quite some time now, thanks to the popularity of Android and the driving, walking and public transport modes in it.

Disregarding quality of source data, many people prefer to use Apple Maps, because of its prettier, cleaner and ad-free user interface, the report added.
