Skywatchers around the world have an exciting few months ahead, with many
astronomical events to enjoy from late 2025 to early 2026. There will be
planet sightings, bright meteor showers, and a major lunar eclipse, giving
everyone a reason to look up at the night sky.
December 2025
The year ends with a special supermoon on December 24, when the full Moon looks
slightly bigger and brighter because it is closer to Earth. Winter skies are
longer and clearer, making it easy to see planets like Jupiter and Saturn in
the evening. The Geminid meteor shower, famous for bright meteors, will also
be active in mid-December, with mostly dark skies for good viewing.
