India’s 2025 Budget Focuses on Education Growth

At the start of 2025, Indian policymakers faced an important question: it was no longer whether the country needed to invest in education, but how strongly it could do so. With a young population, a shrinking global job market, and fast technological changes, India needed an education system that could grow quickly without losing quality. The Union Budget 2025 aimed to answer this challenge clearly.

Presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Budget treated education as strategic national infrastructure, not just a welfare expense. The Ministry of Education received ₹1,28,650 crore, a 6.22% increase from the previous year. The government outlined a plan connecting schools, colleges, laboratories, and industries, creating a full learning and development system for the nation.
