Asteroids have lots of useful and valuable metals. Many new companies
are interested in them because mining on Earth is becoming harder and
hurts the environment. But getting to an asteroid and taking materials
from it is still very difficult.
A company in California called TransAstra has created a new idea to help:
the Capture Bag. It is an inflatable bag made from strong materials like
Kevlar and aluminium. The bag comes in many sizes, from very small to very
large, and can wrap around objects from tiny rocks to big boulders.
It could also be used to clean up space junk, which is becoming a big
problem for scientists and governments.
