Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has extended the admission deadline for its distance and online education programmes for the 2026 academic year. Students who were unable to complete their applications earlier now have more time to apply.
The previous deadline was August 10, 2026. The university has now extended the last date to September 8, 2026. Interested students can submit their applications through the official JMI admission portal.
The extension gives students additional time to check the available programmes, complete their applications, and submit the required details and documents. Students are advised to complete the process before the new deadline to avoid last-minute problems.
11 New Programmes Introduced
JMI has also announced 11 new certificate and diploma programmes for the upcoming academic year. The new courses cover areas such as languages, media, photography, technology, and peace studies.
The new language programmes include courses in French, Spanish, Chinese, Persian, Arabic, and Russian. These courses are aimed at students who want to develop language skills for education, employment, communication, or personal development.
The university has also introduced programmes related to photography and video editing and anchoring and broadcasting. These courses may be useful for students interested in media, digital content, television, and communication-related careers.
Another new programme focuses on Indian Knowledge Systems, giving students an opportunity to learn about India’s traditional knowledge and intellectual traditions.
JMI has also added a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence and Digital Media. The programme combines technology and digital media, reflecting the growing importance of artificial intelligence in the modern digital industry.
In addition, the university is offering an Advanced Diploma in Conflict Analysis and Peacebuilding. The programme focuses on understanding conflicts and developing approaches to peace and conflict resolution.
