JEE Main 2026 Exam Rescheduled

The Government of India has decided to change the date of the JEE Main 2026 for some students. This decision was taken because the exam was scheduled on April 5, which falls on Easter Sunday.

Many students and community leaders had raised concerns about the clash with important Christian holy days. Responding to this, Union Minister Suresh Gopi announced that students who cannot attend the exam on that day will be given another chance.

The second phase of the exam is scheduled between April 2 and April 10, which also overlaps with Holy Week, an important period for Christians. Religious groups, including the Catholic Church, had requested the government to avoid scheduling exams on days like Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday.

Students who are unable to write the exam on April 5 can request a new date. They need to send an email to the official address (jeemain.query@nta.ac.in
) before March 28, 2026.

The government acted quickly after receiving these requests. Officials said the decision was taken to respect religious beliefs while ensuring that students do not miss an important exam.

This move has brought relief to many engineering aspirants across the country. It also shows that the government is becoming more aware of religious sensitivity while planning national-level exams.
