Nvidia’s $100 Billion OpenAI Deal Faces Delay

Nvidia’s plan to invest up to $100 billion in OpenAI has stalled, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. Some people inside Nvidia have raised doubts about the deal, which has caused the delay.

The deal was first announced in September. Nvidia planned to provide OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, with money and access to advanced computer chips. These chips are needed to train and run OpenAI’s latest artificial intelligence models.

The investment was expected to help OpenAI stay ahead in the competitive AI industry, where companies are racing to develop more powerful AI tools. However, concerns from Nvidia employees have slowed the process, and it is not clear when or if the deal will move forward.

The delay highlights the challenges of large investments in AI, even for major tech companies like Nvidia. Analysts say the situation will be closely watched, as it could affect both OpenAI’s growth and the future of AI chip development.
