To improve the link between school learning and higher education, the University
Grants Commission (UGC) has asked colleges and universities in India to select
their best senior teachers to guide high school teachers.
This is part of the National Mission for Mentoring (NMM), which is a key part of
the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The goal is to raise the quality of
teaching at all levels in India.
The UGC wants universities to share their academic knowledge with schools by
identifying faculty members who are good at mentoring and can help improve
school teaching.
