Delhi High Court Addresses Property Management for Orphaned Minors

In a poignant case involving two minors who lost both parents, the Delhi High Court is set to deliberate on a policy for handling the property of such children. The minors, under the care of Udayan Ghar for Boys, expressed apprehensions about the mismanagement of their parents’ assets. Despite relatives offering care, the minors sought the court’s intervention through a petition filed via the shelter home.

Senior Advocate Dayan Krishnan has been appointed as amicus curiae to contribute valuable insights for formulating a policy tailored to the unique circumstances of children bereft of both parents. The court has summoned the Delhi government’s response within two weeks, emphasizing the need to address the minors’ concerns. The case is slated for further hearing on December 6.
