A former cricketer, Priyank Panchal, has spoken out against Delhi Capitals’ player Kyle Jamieson for his intense reaction after dismissing Rajasthan Royals’ Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the IPL 2026 match on Friday.
Vaibhav, who is only 15 years old, hit a boundary on his first ball but was quickly dismissed by Jamieson. The New Zealand pacer delivered a yorker, and Vaibhav attempted to play an aggressive shot but failed, resulting in the ball deflecting off his pad onto the stumps. After taking the wicket, Jamieson celebrated aggressively, clapping and staring at Vaibhav as he walked back.
Panchal criticized this behavior on his social media account, saying it wasn’t a nice thing to see, especially since Vaibhav had already caused fear among opponents with his impressive performance so far in the IPL. The young player has scored 404 runs in 10 matches, including two fifties and one century, making him fourth on the Orange Cap standings.
Despite being dismissed early, Rajasthan Royals managed to score 225/6 thanks to strong performances by Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, and Donovan Ferreira. Delhi Capitals chased down the target easily, thanks to half-centuries from Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul.
After the match, RR captain admitted his team could have bowled better in the middle overs, allowing DC to score more freely. He believed 200 was a competitive total but felt they missed opportunities to control the game.
