On Thursday (August 6, 2026), protesting students in Jharkhand formed an 11-member delegation to discuss their demands with the state government. The students gathered at Ranchi’s Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium, calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into alleged irregularities in state competitive exams, including the JPSC Combined Civil Services Examination and the JSSC-CGL exam.
The JPSC-JSSC Reforms Manch planned to hold talks with a government committee on August 6 evening. However, as of report filing time, no details about the meeting’s timing or location had been shared with the Manch. The delegation includes eight students: Ravindra Paswan, Piyush Kumar Singh, Ravindra Kumar Ravi, Rajesh Prasad, Neetu Kujur, Kartik Soren, Sandeep Kumar, and Shaalu Singh. It also features a journalist, a guardian, and a legal expert.
Journalists and legal experts will act as mentors but won’t participate in discussions or make statements. The media is barred from using recording devices during the meeting. Student representatives will present all demands to the government.
Student leader Ravindra Paswan stated they are ready for talks and hope the government addresses their concerns seriously. The protest, which began on July 25, has now entered its 13th day and will continue until the government resolves the issues. The Jharkhand CID is investigating the exam irregularities, with 19 people arrested so far.
The primary demand remains a CBI inquiry, along with the cancellation of the Preliminary Test for the 14th JPSC Civil Services Examination and a review of exams conducted by agencies like TSR Data Processing Private Limited.
Earlier, AICC Jharkhand In-charge K. Raju expressed support for the students on X, thanking the Chief Minister for forming a committee to address their grievances and emphasizing justice for the students as a top priority.
