TVK Claim Sparks Governor Visit Drama

CHENNAI: In a fresh development after the election results, politics in Tamil Nadu has become more intense with leaders making back-to-back visits to the Governor and raising serious allegations against each other.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay met the Governor R V Arlekar on Friday. During the meeting, he officially staked claim to form the next government, saying his party had the required support.

Just a few hours later, TTV Dhinakaran, the founder of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), also met the Governor. After the meeting, he told reporters that he had requested the Governor to invite Edappadi K Palaniswami to form the government instead.

This has added more confusion to the already unclear political situation after the election.

Dhinakaran also made a serious allegation. He claimed that AMMK’s only elected MLA, S Kamaraj, was “missing” and accused Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam of trying to lure MLAs from other parties through horse-trading. Horse-trading is a term used when politicians try to illegally or unfairly influence elected members to switch sides.

However, later in the night, officials confirmed that the missing MLA was found safe.

With different parties making claims, counter-claims, and competing requests to form the government, the political situation in the state remains uncertain and tense.
