Uttar Pradesh FSDA Intensifies Vigilance to Combat Festive Food Adulteration

The Food Security and Drug Administration (FSDA) department in Uttar Pradesh has heightened its vigilance drive to combat food adulteration during the ongoing festive season. FSDA teams are conducting surprise visits to sweet shops, retail stores, and grocery marts in major cities. They are randomly sampling food items, including jaggery, sago, yogurt, buckwheat flour, and Asafoetida, commonly consumed during the Navratri and Dussehra festivals.

The collected samples are sent to forensic labs for analysis to ensure compliance with government-mandated quality standards. Legal action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 based on the lab reports.
