Mrs. Chennai, a platform for married women to rediscover themselves is back with a bang this year.  The event launch which happened in the city saw former Mrs. Chennai winners and participants walking the ramps and each one of them sharing their experience. All the yesteryear event stars shared that Mrs. Chennai was a launch pad for them to show case many of their talents and help them discover the role of their spouses and in-laws in a different perspective.

This being the 10th edition, age bar has been lifted.  "Women in their 40s and 50s can also participate this year and take away special prizes if you are dynamic, talented and versatile" says Ms. Poornima of Virgo Event Management who had been organizing successfully Mrs. Chennai for the last 10 years.

Mrs. Chennai is regarded as the title for Women with all-round beauty.  The various subtitles include Culinary Queen, Tech Savy Queen, Fitness Queen, IQ Queen, Adventure Queen and Design Queen.  According to Mrs. Latha Krishna, the other half of Virgo Events this year event will also test the contestants on their computer skills, finance Management, fitness and mobility. "Finance Management is a key area, where women get sidelined, so we want to show case to the World that a Woman is no less in managing finance as well", she adds.

This year the contest is open to all participants across Tamil Nadu and the selections will be in the respective towns. The last date for Registration is 30th October, 2009. The Finale to be held on December 11th at Kamaraj Arangam is ticketed at Rs. 250 and Rs.500.  The proceeds of the tickets will go to Hope Foundation in aid a school which is under construction at Okkiam Thoraipakkam. The school offers free education for the less privileged.
