Kathmandu: The death toll from the severe floods in Nepal has risen to 987, according to officials. Rescue teams have recovered more bodies from eight districts badly affected by the disaster. The floods were caused by heavy rainfall, which led to rivers rising quickly and water spreading into several areas. Rescue operations have become difficult because rain has continued in many places, while water levels in rivers remain high. New Flood Warning Issued Authorities have issued a new flood warning as river levels continue to rise.
