After taking home many laurels and accolades, our Oscar Hero A R Rahman chooses to give back. Jai Ho, a Live in Concert to be hosted by MARG in aid of Shakthi Foundation and A.R. Rahman foundation on 11th October is the first home coming concert for ARR after winning Oscars. The Live In Concert, is a part of A R Rahman's 'Jai Ho World Tour' and is the first in Chennai after the Oscars. The concert will be held at MARG Sawrnabhoomi on the East Coast Road (ECR).

The concert will feature 80 performers, and includes top singers, performers like Hariharan, Sivamani, Sadhana Sargam, Blazee amongst other celebrated artistes. The composer said the concert would have a mix of songs including tracks from his upcoming Bollywood film, 'Blue'. Though Rahman has been promoting his son Alim, who wants to become a playback singer, the composer informed that the six-year-old would not participate in the concert.
Mr. G.R.K Reddy, Chairman & Managing Director, MARG group, says, "It has been 2 years of association with Shakthi Foundation and I feel happy to associate with Mr. Rahman who dreams to make Poverty a history through his A.R. Rahman Foundation".
Ms Vasanth Raguvir, founder of The Shakti Foundation, has an interesting story to reveal on the concert. "A day before Rahman left for Oscars Award Ceremony, he assured for a Live concert and he has honored his commitment.". Project Ramp an initiative launched by the foundation thrives to provide Ramps in public places, for easy access to the people on wheels. The Foundation is identified with the Adhiparasakthi Medical and Research Hospital situated 92 kms from Chennai. The Foundation also offers a help line for over 950 differently-abled children who are housed in 15 special schools for medicines, rehabilitation aids, education stipends, surgery costs, uniform material, home provisions . "The proceeds of this concert will help to support our vision to integrate physically challenged into the mainstream society," adds Ms. Raghuvir.
30,000 music lovers are expected to attend the show and the 1000 acre MARG Swarnabhoomi is all geared to host this mega event with the best of the light and sound, LED walls and an array of pyrotechnics. "Through this concert, it's our great pleasure to bring his music to the music lovers of Chennai, and in our own humble way, this would be Chennai's way of felicitating the great maestro", says an excited G K Reddy.
