The film 'Adhae Neram Adhae Idam', starring Jai and Vijayalashmi in the lead, is releasing on 6th November. It was actually planned for a Deepavali release on October 17th but due to some unexpected hurdles that arose at the last-minute, the film is releasing now. The film has been awarded an U/A certificate by the Censor Boar

That the film, which is a romantic story, has been passed with an U/A certificate has raised eyebrows in the film fraternity. The film is the usual love story sans violence, bloodshed and vulgarity. The reason for the U/A grading given by the Censor Board is a reported lip-lock involving the lead pair of Vijayalakshmi and Jai, sources point out.
As per the story, Vijayalakshmi gets hiccups while talking to Jai in a particular sequence. Whatever may Jai and Viji try, the hiccup wouldn't stop. Jai, who is Viji's lover in the film, couldn't bear her getting the hiccups and in an apparent effort to stop the 'hiccup', he engages her in a lingering lip-lock.
Usually, the next frame would show the couple singing a duet in a picturesque locale. Here, director Prabhu has adopted a novel way of extending this sequence. It won't be out of place here to mention that Prabhu was earlier working as assistant director with director-turned-actor SJ Suryah, known for his double-meaning dialogues.
As soon as Jai and Viji disentangle themselves and separate, Viji starts getting hiccups again. Now, what would you expect Jai to do? Just doing what he did earlier? The kiss starts again. The hiccup-kiss gets repeated four times in a single frame.
Now, should we explain the reason behind Censor Board's U/A certificate.
