Modhera Sun Temple Trends After Madhavan Post

A thousand-year-old wonder in Gujarat is suddenly getting a lot of attention
online—and the reason is actor R Madhavan. He recently shared a post about the
Modhera Sun Temple, and people are now amazed by its perfect design and
connection with the Sun. From the way the temple is aligned with the Tropic
of Cancer to how sunlight enters the shrine on certain days, its architecture
seems almost unbelievable. Madhavan’s post has only increased the excitement.

The Modhera Sun Temple started trending after Madhavan reshared a detailed
post by content creator Saurabh Rajwani. Saurabh explained that the Tropic
of Cancer passes right through Modhera in Gujarat, where this 11th-century
temple dedicated to Surya, the Sun God, stands next to the calm Pushpavati River.
The temple is surrounded by beautiful gardens filled with flowers and birds,
making the whole place look like a scene from a movie—something that clearly
caught Madhavan’s attention.

Modhera Sun Temple’s special connection with the Sun

Saurabh described how the temple’s link with the Sun is truly amazing.
On June 21, the longest day of the year, the Sun is exactly above the temple,
so it does not cast a shadow. He also said that on the two equinoxes—March 21
and September 23—the first ray of sunlight passes through the assembly hall
and hits the exact spot where the idol of the Sun God was placed.

He explained that the temple is almost a thousand years old, yet its
builders understood the movement of the Sun with incredible accuracy.
