Vice President Calls for Unity and Harmony
Vice President of India, C. P. Radhakrishnan, said that people must stay united for the development and well-being of society. He stressed the importance of community spirit and religious harmony while speaking at a gathering held to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. The event, called The Trivandrum Fest 2025, took place at the LMS Church Compound in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice President said that unity among people of different religions and communities is essential for social progress and peace. He called on everyone to work together for the common good of society.
Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar also spoke at the event and shared a message of love and harmony. The function was presided over by Archbishop Thomas J. Netto of the Latin Archdiocese.
Several prominent leaders and religious figures attended the event, including Thiruvananthapuram Mayor V. V. Rajesh, Believers Eastern Church Metropolitan Samuel Mar Theilophilos, Shanthigiri Ashram General Secretary Gururatnam Jnana Tapaswi, and Palayam Imam V. P. Suhaib Maulavi.
Later in the day, the Vice President is scheduled to attend the 93rd Sivagiri Pilgrimage at Varkala. After that, he will inaugurate a public meeting to mark the conclusion of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of Mar Ivanios College in Thiruvananthapuram.
