Trump, Netanyahu Discuss Next Phase of Gaza Ceasefire

US President Donald Trump met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his residence in Florida to discuss the next steps of the ceasefire plan for Gaza.

After the meeting, Mr Trump spoke to reporters and praised Mr Netanyahu, calling him a “wartime Prime Minister.” He said the United States fully supports Israel. Mr Trump also stated that Hamas would be given only a short time to disarm so that the peace plan for Gaza could move to its second phase. He added that Israel had fully followed all parts of the ceasefire plan so far.

Prime Minister Netanyahu described the meeting as “very productive.” Speaking to the media, he said that the Trump administration had achieved significant progress in West Asia. He added that Mr Trump’s leadership had changed how the United States is involved in the region and strengthened America’s role there.
